Description [EN]

In the beautiful Tecklenburger Land, idyllically situated, stands the Agricultural Machinery Museum of the Riesenbeck Local History Association. It consists of three accessible buildings and presents the 5,000-year development of agricultural machinery from the simplest beginnings to the present day with around 1,000 exhibits.

Visitors can use screen terminals and QR codes to learn about the sometimes unique exhibits with images, texts, and videos. The German texts can be read aloud by AI, and most exhibits are additionally described in Westphalian Low German. Guided tours by arrangement are also possible outside regular opening hours in German or Platt (Westphalian Low German).

A special attraction is a 14 m² layout on which agricultural work can be simulated using radio-controlled vehicles at a scale of 1:32. The so-called Sikubeck layout can be booked via the museum’s website on the Sundays when the museum is open.

Several large meetings are held at the museum each year. On May 1st about 850 vintage cars come to visit; the SAAB meeting of the 1st German Saab Club e.V. attracts around 300 vehicles.
On the third Sunday in August there is an activity day, mainly featuring demonstrations of tractors and farm machinery on adjacent agricultural land. Each year the Riesenbeck Local History Association presents its projects on a rotating basis.
