Kreuzgang Museum Andreasstift
The Museum of the City of Worms is located within one of the city´s most beautiful buildings, the former Andreasstift – a late Romanesque collegiate church featuring a picturesque inner courtyard.
The ground floor´s two new cloister wings showcase the history of the city, the history of the City Museum of Worms, and a city model.
The upper floors house numerous archaeological discoveries from Worms spanning the Neolithic period, Bronze Age and Iron Age. Equally noteworthy is the Roman section of the museum as well as finds from the time of the Franks, who settled in the area of Worms around 500 AD. The museum pays tribute to Luther´s historically significant appearance before the Diet of Worms in 1521, as well as the city´s medieval history.
The historical cloister and its courtyard with a water feature are open and freely accessible. Especially on hot days, this location serves as a climatic oasis in the heart of the city centre, offering a unique and beautiful spot for relaxation. The museum thus supports the heat action plan of the city of Worms. Additionally, the cloister with its seating can be visited throughout the year without an admission fee.
From 16.11.2024 - 30.03.2025, the Museum Andreasstift is currently showing the special exhibition “On land, at sea and in the air. The pictorial world of the painter Leonhard Sandrock (1867-1945)”. Further information can be found under Dates or on the museum´s homepage www.museum-andreasstift.de

Museumsshop
Im Museumsshop des Andreasstiftes können ausstellungsbezogene Produkte erworben werden. Teilweise werden diese in der eigenen Museumswerkstatt hergestellt. Bücher und Ausstellungskataloge, Fachliteratur, Kinder- und Jugendbücher und Geschenkideen sind ebenfalls im Shop erhältlich.

Das Museum Andreasstift ist leider nicht völlig barrierefrei. Lediglich die Ausstellungsbereiche im Erdgeschoss sind bedingt barrierefrei (kein Zugang zu einerm barrierefreien WC im Haus).
