Description [EN]
Immerse Yourself in the Fascinating World of Aviation!
Atop the roof majestically sits a real Transall, the famous German Armed Forces transport aircraft with its powerful propellers. Take a look inside the cockpit, explore the massive interior, and enjoy an animation that gives you the impression of flying over the picturesque landscapes of the Harz with the rear ramp open. For the brave aviation enthusiasts, a giant slide takes you back down.
Experience 50 fascinating aircraft up close and be inspired by the evolution of aviation. The uniqueness of this exhibition: you can view each aircraft closely and in detail – almost without barriers.
In the four exhibition hangars, you immediately feel the allure of aviation. From the early flight attempts by Otto Lilienthal, the legendary Junkers Ju 52, to modern jet fighters like MIG, Mirage, and Starfighter – the entire history of aviation comes alive here. Owner Clemens Aulich, an aviation enthusiast himself, has compiled an impressive collection over decades, ranging from instruments to propellers to complete cockpits. And that´s not all, this collection is constantly being expanded, making a first visit rarely the last.
For young visitors, there are interactive stations where they can playfully discover aerodynamics. And for adults, the museum even offers the chance to experience a "first private flying lesson" in a professional simulator.
Plan a break in the CafetAIRia, which is accessible without an entrance fee. Here, you can enjoy coffee and tea specialties, as well as cakes, ice cream, and snacks in a modern atmosphere and reflect on the museum´s impressions.
Experience the allure of flying at the Wernigerode Aviation Museum – an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
