A Multidisciplinary Forum for Art and Science
Centrally located in a villa on the banks of the Main River in Sachsenhausen, the museum presents rotating special exhibitions that address socially and scientifically relevant topics. In addition, previously overlooked artistic positions are showcased, with the Rhine-Main region as a geographic intersection, in the context of art and film studies research at Goethe University.
An exhibition space for everyone interested in multidisciplinary perspectives and discovering new ideas, the Museum Giersch of Goethe University was founded in 2000 by the Giersch Foundation and has been part of Goethe University since 2015. As a museum dedicated to art, it fosters connections between the university and the city.
As part of Frankfurt’s internationally renowned Museum Embankment, the Museum Giersch of Goethe University contributes to the city´s vibrant and diverse cultural landscape.
