Sammlung zur Heimatgeschichte im Deusserhaus

Description [EN]

The Heimatbund Monheim am Rhein e.V. is an association in Monheim am Rhein dedicated to the preservation of local heritage, customs, and culture. The association maintains a local history collection housed in the Deusser-Haus. This collection on local history is built up and cared for by volunteers. The Deusser-Haus serves as a local history museum and is open to visitors on Sundays from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Admission is free. The Heimatbund’s activities include, among other things, museum excursions and lectures on local history. In addition, special activities such as baking in its own bakehouse, museum festivals, and special exhibitions are organized. The town partnership between Monheim am Rhein and Wiener Neustadt in Lower Austria has existed since 1971. In this context, people from Wiener Neustadt, including a group of visitors on 23 July 2023, visited the Deusser-Haus and were knowledgeably guided through the local history collection by the chairman of the Heimatbund, Bodo Esser. The Deusser-Haus is a place that both preserves local history and culture and showcases local art in constantly changing special exhibitions, making them accessible to the public.
