Description [EN]
Welcome to the SCHABBELL, a fascinating house of preserved history, brought to life and experienced. Immerse yourself in the chambers of the successful merchant, brewer and mayor Heinrich Schabbell. Walk through the 800-year history of the proud and powerful Hanseatic city of Wismar and take a look over our shoulders. After 7 years of renovation, the City History Museum of the Hanseatic City of Wismar moved into the two high-calibre monuments Schweinsbrücke 6 and 8 in December 2017. The tour through Wismar's history takes you from the founding of the town at the beginning of the 13th century to the peaceful revolution of 1989/1990. The original exhibits tell of princes and princesses, citizens, craftsmen and piracy, of conquest, destruction, wars and peace as well as of reconstruction and dissolution.
