Hadamar in Nine Perspectives

The Hadamar City Museum ("Stadtmuseum") is the central place for presenting the town's history. In clearly structured themed sections, the permanent exhibition invites visitors to rediscover Hadamar's past and present from a variety of viewpoints. The following nine keywords highlight individual aspects:

documented ("verbrieft") tells of the beginnings of settlement and the town’s formation.
changed ("verwandelt") shows the development of the townscape in the light of historical upheavals.
reverenced ("verehrt") treats Hadamar as a residence town and as a center of Hadamar Baroque.
educated ("verschult") offers insights into the town’s long-standing educational history.
published ("verlegt") covers the book-printing and publishing industry important to the town.
treated ("versorgt") deals with the development of the medical and social infrastructure.
administrated ("verwaltet") sheds light on Hadamar as an administrative town.
glassed ("verglast") presents the fascinating craft of Hadamar glass decoration and refinement.
amused ("vergnügt") illustrates the vibrant everyday life, traditional festivals and local club culture.

Activity stations for children and families provide a playful way into the town’s history. The museum thus becomes an exciting place to experience for young and old. Children receive their own explorer’s certificate. We warmly invite you to embark on a journey of discovery!
