Description [EN]
European history was made near the town of Mühlberg/Elbe. In 1547, the armies of a Catholic alliance under Emperor Charles V clashed here with the Protestant Schmalkaldic League under the command of the Saxon Elector Johann Friedrich. This event, which proved decisive for the course of the Reformation, is the main focus of the museum, which also features an extensive exhibition on the town’s history.
