Technische Sammlung Hochhut

In the Frankfurt district of Gallus, the Technische Sammlung Hochhut presents a collection dedicated to the preservation of historic motor vehicles, motorcycles and engines, and is organized as a foundation.

The collection is part of the Route der Industriekultur Rhein-Main and thus occupies an interconnected role in the region's technological history. Its location in Gallus anchors the exhibition in an industrially influenced urban setting.

The collection originated from the long-standing private commitment of entrepreneur Fritz Hochhut. Over several decades he gathered vehicles, engines and power units, including steam engines and Stirling engines. After his death, the collection was transferred into a foundation in 1999 by former employees to ensure the long-term safekeeping of the objects.

The holdings include engines and vehicle components that document the development of propulsion and mobility. The Technische Sammlung Hochhut preserves these testimonies of technical and industrial development and makes them accessible to researchers and interested visitors.
