Description [EN]
In the center of Weimar, the Weimar Haus functions as a private, commercial museum presenting the city's history from the Stone Age to Weimar Classicism.
It is located at Schillerstraße 16 and is aimed at visitors seeking a compact overview of Weimar's development across the ages.
The exhibition proceeds chronologically through the various periods. For each period, dioramas have been created in which lifelike wax figures depict central everyday scenes and tableaux. Elaborate lighting effects and a coordinated soundscape enhance the experience of each scene and create a pronounced atmosphere.
Through this combination of models, figures, and a multimedia atmosphere, the house conveys the city's development vividly and directly.
