Description [EN]
This Historic house museum is located in S.Mamede de Infesta, near the city of Oporto, Portugal. Its main purpose is to research, conserve and promote the Intellectual and cultural legacy of Abel Salazar (1889 - 1946).
Salazar was one of the most prominent figures in the Portuguese cultural scene of the first four decades of the 20th Century. He developed work as an artist, cientist, professor, writer, philosofer, always managing to be relevant in each area of knowledge, promoting an eclectic system of thought, and critical thinking towards students and co-workers. As such, he was always a target of the dictatorial regime that prevailed at that time, inhibiting him from working and denying him access to information. He was even prohibited to leave the country. Even with the political persecution from which he was a victim, he kept working, proving nothing could break his resilient personality.
