Description [EN]

We welcome our virtual museum visitors and would first like to give a brief note about the building itself. The house was established in 1870 as a school and teacher's residence. After the number of pupils grew, the building now known as the local heritage house was used for other purposes. Later a kindergarten was set up and parts of the building were used for fire brigade purposes. From 1974 most of the rooms were required for the establishment of the local history museum. In surprising variety the museum houses both large and small treasures. Valuable individual pieces of significant worth and lovingly assembled everyday objects are displayed in six sections. The museum is just the right place for grandparents to introduce their grandchildren to times gone by. Since its founding, it has been a central task of the Heimatverein Lette to collect and document local cultural heritage for posterity. Traditional crafts are presented in a very vivid way. Among other exhibits, a hairdresser’s salon, a shoemaker’s workshop, and a bakery with its traditional tools are shown. There is ample parking available in front of the museum.
